THE ELKINS TOWN SQUARE

Located behind the Historic Elkins Railroad Depot, the newly developed Elkins Town Square has become the premier staging area for events in the Elkins community.

While developing the rail yard, the Randolph County Development Authority saw the opportunity to create a centralized location to host events in Downtown Elkins.

The Town Square has become a place where people can gather and meet, or businesses can offer their goods and services to the community and tourists.  Its beautiful, natural landscaping and open air design mesh perfectly with the presence of the Historic Railroad Depot, making it a prime example of the RCDA's committment to the coexistence of history and progress.

The town square has become a focal point not just in the rail yard but in the community, and there are numerous activates that now take place there on a regular basis, including:

  • Mountain State Forest Festival Talent Show
  • Ramps and Rails Festival
  • Farmers Market
  • Cruise In and Car Show
  • Fresh Food Fridays
  • Ribs and Rails
  • Outdoor Concerts
